Sri Lanka, May 1 -- A seven-year-old swimmer named Ishank from Ranchi, India, set a new world record by crossing the challenging maritime boundary between Sri Lanka and India at a very young age.
This talented swimmer from the Dhurwa area in Ranchi recorded this historic victory by swimming a distance of nearly 29 kilometres across the Palk Strait from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India in a short time of 9 hours and 50 minutes.
According to reports, he holds the new world record as the youngest swimmer in the world to cross this sea route.
Many state that this victory achieved yesterday (30) resulted from his strict discipline, dedication, and perseverance.
