Sri Lanka, March 3 -- Senior Lawyer S. K. Sangakkara, the father of former Sri Lankan cricket captain Kumar Sangakkara, passed away recently. A prominent legal professional based in Kandy, he earned deep respect within both the legal fraternity and the local community throughout his long career.

Final rites for the late lawyer are scheduled to take place tomorrow, March 4, at 6:00 PM at the Mahaiyawa General Cemetery in Kandy.
