Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- The second generator unit of the inactive Lakvijaya Thermal Power Plant will reconnect to the national grid today (22), Lakvijaya Power Plant Director Engineer M.D. Nalaka said.

Power cuts will hopefully not undergo further extensions after today, National System Operator Private Limited Chairman Dr. Pradeep Perera stated.

Meanwhile, a senior official of the Public Utilities Commission mentioned that National System Operator Private Limited made no request so far regarding the extension of power cuts.
