Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- Venerable Ulapane Sumangala Thera says the first step in the campaign seeking the release of Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera begins today at the upper courtyard of the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy.

He said a satyagraha would be held at the site as part of the campaign.

Meanwhile, retired Senior Professor Venerable Kotapitiya Rahula Anunayake Thera of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha has written to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, requesting a discussion with the Kotte chapter, to which Gnanasara Thera belongs, before the monk is produced in court again.
