Sri Lanka, Oct. 20 -- Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ordered today (20) to remand the wife of former deputy minister Sarana Gunawardena and another until the 30th regarding an incident of allegedly giving a bribe to an office assistant of the Colombo High Court to induce a judge to grant a suspended prison sentence to her husband.

The court also ordered the release of the third suspect in the incident, the registrar of Minuwangoda Magistrate's Court, on two personal bails of Rs. 1 million each.

The court issued this order following facts presented by the Bribery Commission presenting three suspects to court regarding the incident.
