Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that the country needs a power generation policy focused on providing electricity continuously, at high quality, and at the lowest unit price.

He mentioned that this objective can be achieved through renewable energy. However, he accused the current government of discarding renewable energy projects after coming into power, despite raising various slogans on the subject while in opposition.

The Opposition Leader made these remarks following a meeting at the Opposition Leader's Office with Australian High Commissioner Matthew Duckworth to brief him on government policy decisions affecting solar energy entrepreneurs.
