Sajith alleges govt. fears local election backlash, delays PC polls
Sri Lanka, June 6 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa claims that the government is intentionally delaying the Provincial Council elections due to fears stemming from the outcome of the recent Local Government elections.
He made these remarks today (06) during a special meeting with former Provincial Council members held at the Opposition Leader's Office. The event was organised under the theme, "Defeat Anura's Fear-Driven Delay of Provincial Council Elections."
Premadasa alleged that the current administration had lost approximately 2.3 million votes within a short period following the General Election.
