Sri Lanka, April 23 -- Specific health and safety protocols for Dansal held across the country during the upcoming Vesak and Poson festivals appear in a new directive.

Director General of Health Services, Dr. Asela Gunawardena, distributed these instructions to all Medical Officers of Health (MOH) and food controllers to ensure public hygiene.

The guidelines mandate several key requirements for organizers and health officials:

Registration: All Dansal must register with the local MOH office at the Public Health Inspector (PHI) divisional level, providing location details and contact information.

Compliance: Health officials will inspect premises to ensure operations align with the Food Hygiene Regulations of 2011.
