Sri Lanka, May 30 -- Following the directive of the Malwathu Chapter Karaka Maha Sangha Council, the Atamasthana Committee has appointed Ven. Ithalawetunuwe Gnathilaka Thero to temporarily carry out the duties of the Chief of Atamasthana.

Ven. Ithalawetunuwe Gnathilaka Thero is the Chief Incumbent of Ruwanweli Seya Viharaya.

The Malwathu Maha Viharaya Karaka Maha Sangha Council has taken several special decisions regarding the position of Chief Sanghanayaka of Nuwara Kalaviya of the Malwathu Chapter as well as the post of Atamasthana Chief.

Attention was drawn to allegations against the current Atamasthana Chief, Ven. Palllegama Hemarathana Thero, and the relevant parties were summoned and the matter was examined by the council.
