Sri Lanka, July 26 -- On 206 post office modernisation projects, government has spent Rs. 600 million, Health and Media Minister Dr Nalinda Jayatissa said.

The Minister mentioned this while handing over the newly constructed Jayanthipura post office building, equipped with all modern facilities, to the public yesterday (25) afternoon under his patronage, with the aim of providing a more efficient, systematic, and people-friendly postal service to the people of the Jayanthipura area in the Polonnaruwa district.

Joining the occasion of opening the new post office, the Minister further said that another Rs. 600 million was invested for constructions, including 14 new post offices and the Dambulla Regional Exchange Centre.
