Rs. 160m Medawela water treatment plant project launched
Sri Lanka, Aug. 28 -- The laying of the foundation stone for the Medawela water treatment plant project, built for Rs. 160 million, symbolically took place on August 27, providing a sustainable solution to the drinking water problem faced by the people of the Uva Paranagama area for a long time.
Under the full funding of the National Water Supply and Drainage Board, a complete water purification system with a daily capacity of 2,000 cubic metres of water is scheduled to be installed through this project.
Through this, clean, quality, and safe drinking water facilities will be made available to over 5,200 families (5,292 consumers) in the Medawela, Dawuldena, Karagaha Ulpatha, and Ketagoda areas.
