Sri Lanka, April 10 -- A protest demanding the resignation of Energy Minister Kumara Jayakodi is currently taking place near the Parliament entrance at Polduwa intersection.
The Joint Opposition organised this demonstration, which included the participation of several opposition Members of Parliament. Members of the public also joined the protest to support the cause.
The protesters are calling on the President and the government to immediately remove the minister from his position, alleging a loss of billions of rupees due to a low-quality coal scam. Additionally, a no-confidence motion brought by the opposition against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakodi is scheduled for debate in Parliament today (10).
