Reports of price hikes for milk powder and dairy products false, says Consumer Affairs Authority
Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority states that news circulating on social media claiming the prices of several goods, including milk powder, UHT milk, and yoghurt, have been increased is false.
The Authority noted that the relevant posts being shared across social media, formatted as "BREAKING NEWS", claim that the price of a kilogramme of milk powder has been increased by Rs.260, a bottle of UHT milk by Rs.40, and a yoghurt by Rs.20.
Accordingly, the Consumer Affairs Authority emphasises that the information published regarding these price increases is completely false.
