Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa, currently in remand custody, was brought to the National Eye Hospital in Colombo today (09) for examinations and treatment, our reporter said.

She was referred to the prison specialist doctor yesterday (08) due to an eye condition, and steps were taken to present her to a specialist doctor at the National Eye Hospital based on the medical recommendation given there.

Shiranthi Rajapaksa, arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption in connection with an alleged financial irregularity in the 'Siriliya Saviya' account, was ordered to be remanded until the 13th by the Colombo Additional Magistrate on the 07th after being produced in court.
