Sri Lanka, April 24 -- The registration process for Dansals (alms-giving stalls) scheduled for the Vesak Poya festival is now underway.

K.P. Boralessa, President of the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors' (PHI) Association, stated that organisers must notify their local Public Health Inspector to register their respective events.

Parties intending to hold a Dansal should inform the area PHI regarding the specific location and the type of food or drink being offered.

Following registration, PHIs plan to conduct awareness programs for organisers to ensure all stalls operate under hygienic and safe conditions.

Legal action will be taken against those who host dansals without registering or fail to maintain proper health standards.
