Sri Lanka, July 27 -- Rainfall is expected to increase moderately in the southwestern part of the island starting tomorrow (28), according to a statement issued by the Department of Meteorology.

Several spells of rain may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

A few showers or thundershowers may occur at a few locations in the Uva province and the Batticaloa and Ampara districts after 2.00 pm, while dry weather will predominantly prevail across the rest of the island, the statement noted.
