Railway unions expand support for impending 48-hour strike
Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The Joint Railway Trade Union Alliance has announced that the Railway Technical and Operations Service Union has extended its support to the alliance's impending 48-hour strike action.
Accordingly, assistant drivers, shunting drivers, and yard workers have joined forces to back the trade union campaign. The 48-hour strike is set to commence midnight tonight in protest of the administrative conduct of the General Manager of Railways.
