Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Officers from the Police Special Task Force camp in Buttala successfully targeted and raided a cannabis farm containing crops worth upwards of two million rupees.

The operation took place in Thanamalwila, propelled by actionable intelligence supplied by military intelligence personnel.

Upon arrival, the special task force uncovered an extensive cultivation featuring numerous cannabis plants spanning multiple stages of growth.

Law enforcement authorities appraised the total value of the illicit crop at over two million rupees before executing a complete destruction of the plants by fire on-site.

The individuals operating the plantation managed to escape the location prior to law enforcement apprehension.
