Sri Lanka, May 27 -- False news posts that use the name, photos, and videos of Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, alongside the official logos of various media institutions, are circulating on social media.

The Prime Minister's Media Division stated that a certain group created these fake stories utilising Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern technological tools.

Misleading information about various entrepreneurial, employment opportunities, the country's economy, and tax policies is being propagated through these posts, which include manipulated videos and photos designed to look as though the Prime Minister is expressing these views.
