Srilanka, March 14 -- The Sri Lankan government has established a dedicated pool of investigation officers to fast-track inquiries into corruption and misconduct within the public sector.
The move follows a surge in complaints that overwhelmed the existing twenty-person unit at the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government. To address the backlog, authorities have selected one hundred and fifty officers from various state departments and corporations to undergo intensive professional training.
