Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Information regarding alleged fraud and corruption in coal imports should be submitted to the newly appointed Special Presidential Commission of Inquiry, according to Minister Vijitha Herath.
He made this appeal while participating in a special press conference currently held at the Department of Government Information.
This notification follows the step taken by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to establish a Special Presidential Commission to investigate the coal procurement process.
The Minister emphasised that the government aims to conduct a complete and transparent investigation into suspected financial irregularities occurring in the purchase and distribution of coal over the past periods.
