Sri Lanka, April 18 -- Central Province Transport Authority officials took a private bus into custody today (18) for transporting passengers between Nuwara Eliya and Kandy without valid permits.

The raid occurred early this morning as the bus began its journey from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya with a group of passengers.

The operation followed information that the vehicle operated without a license for a long period.

Both the bus and its conductor are now with the Kandy Police for further legal proceedings, and investigations into the matter continue.
