Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has announced that the Government intends to introduce further reductions to selected taxes in the upcoming Budget while ensuring that revenue targets remain on track.

Commenting on the country's economic performance, the President said the Government had met its revenue targets without introducing any new taxes since assuming office.

"We have not imposed any new taxes since coming to power.

In fact, we have significantly reduced some existing taxes. We will reduce certain taxes further in the upcoming Budget," he said.

He emphasised that the planned tax cuts would be carried out without undermining the Government's revenue targets.
