Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake extended congratulations via his X account to Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who won the Brazilian presidential election.

The President mentioned there that the people of Brazil won not merely an election this time, but succeeded in defeating corruption, divisions, and political untruths.

"What is clear from this historic victory of Lula is that the people can no longer be fooled by bankrupt political dynasties and ghosts of the past who believe that power is superior to justice," the note stated.

Furthermore, he offered his warm congratulations to Lula for once again leading the journey forward for progress.
