Sri Lanka, May 22 -- Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee Chairman Pramodya Wickramasinghe has written to the Sports Minister regarding reports that he is to be removed from his position.

In the letter, he states that he was appointed as chairman of the national selection committee for a fixed two-year term until December 2025, and had been verbally informed that the Ministry and Sri Lanka Cricket had decided to terminate his contract and restructure the selection panel.

Wickramasinghe has requested the Sports Ministry and Sri Lanka Cricket to formally notify him in writing, while also explaining the reasons behind the reported decision, in line with proper administrative procedures.
