Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- Fuel distribution across the country could come to a standstill from Friday if authorities fail to revise transportation charges in line with the latest fuel price increase, the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners Association warned today.

Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners Association Chairman A. M. H. Adhikari said the association requested a revision of transportation charges in 2025, with discussions held to implement revised rates from January 2026, though no revision took effect.

He said the association held several rounds of discussions with relevant authorities but failed to receive a favourable response.
