Sri Lanka, April 19 -- A shooting targeting the home of a businessman in the Gangoda area of Midigama, Yahuwatta is suspected to have been carried out by a group linked to "Midigama Lancey," according to police.

The incident occurred around 11:30 last night at the residence of Supun Wijesekera, a businessman who operates a hotel and a fitness center in the area.

Preliminary investigations reveal that a T-56 assault rifle was utilized in the shooting.

Police suspect the attack stems from a dispute involving the 35-year-old businessman at his fitness center in Midigama.

No fatalities were reported following the gunfire, though several parts of the house sustained damage.
