Sri Lanka, Nov. 2 -- The Nikaweratiya Magistrate ordered today that a police sergeant arrested in connection with the custodial death of a suspect at the Kobeigane Police Station be further remanded until 12 November.

The officer had initially been remanded until today after being produced before the court yesterday. Following his appearance before the Magistrate earlier today, his remand period was extended for another 10 days.
