Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- A police sergeant attached to the Kurunegala Headquarters Police has died at Gampaha Hospital last night (29) while receiving treatment in critical condition after drowning while bathing at Ketawala Amuna within the Gampaha police division, according to Gampaha police.

The deceased is a 51-year-old resident of Mudungoda, Gampaha.

Gampaha Police Station is conducting further investigations into the incident.
