Sri Lanka, June 1 -- A Police Sergeant and a 23-year-old youth have died following two separate serious road accidents in the Buttala and Peradeniya Police Divisions, Police Headquarters informed.

A youth died during an accident this morning (01) when the motor cycle he was riding collided head-on with a lorry, on the Gannoruwa-Katugastota Road in Peradeniya.

The rider, who sustained serious injuries, died after being admitted to Peradeniya Hospital.

He has been identified as a 23-year-old resident of Yatiyantota.
