Sri Lanka, April 19 -- Kadugannawa Police are conducting investigations to arrest an individual accused of fatally attacking his mother's second husband with a rice pounder.

The assault occurred on the 16th in the Mudaliwatta area of Kadugannawa.

The 65-year-old victim, who was admitted to the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital in critical condition, passed away the following day.

The 40-year-old suspect fled the area after the incident, prompting a police search.

Investigations revealed that the deceased was the husband of the suspect's mother from her second marriage.

Authorities noted that the two individuals had been involved in long-standing disputes.
