Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- The National Police Commission has taken steps to immediately cancel the transfers previously issued to several senior police officers, including Senior Deputy Inspector General Ranmal Kodituwakku and Police Narcotics Bureau Deputy Inspector General Ashoka Dharmasena.

The Police Headquarters had recently decided to transfer several Senior Deputy Inspectors General with immediate effect, citing institutional requirements and as a measure to ensure the independence of ongoing investigations. Ranmal Kodituwakku's name was included in that transfer list.
