Sri Lanka, July 26 -- Meegoda Police arrested the OIC of the Homagama Division Special Investigation Bureau in connection with an incident where he allegedly drove a motor car while drunk and collided with two young women travelling on a motorbike, Police Media Division mentioned.

The officer arrested is a Chief Inspector who served as the OIC of the Homagama Division Special Investigation Bureau.

Police said the motorcyclist and pillion rider injured in this collision are currently receiving treatment at the Homagama Base Hospital.

The suspect police officer is scheduled to be produced before the Homagama Magistrate's Court today (26).
