Sri Lanka, July 18 -- A request to show love and kindness to pets living on the streets is being made.

Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya mentioned this while participating in a programme conducted by the Veterinary Association for Pets yesterday (17).

Speaking further, the Prime Minister stated:

"Those who have pet cats know that we are not the owners of cats. We are their servants. No matter what prime ministerial posts are held, when I go home, I remain as their servant. We must pay special attention not only to animals in our homes but also to street animals. That is a responsibility of all of us."
