Sri Lanka, Feb. 24 -- A plan to shoot and kill an informant used by police to seize nearly Rs. 400 crore worth of ICE drugs in the Kirinda - Andagalawella sea area was revealed. Information surfaced following the arrest of the intended shooter in Ratnapura by officers of the Western North Crime Division.
The initial raid occurred on November 12 last year based on information received by Assistant Superintendent of Police Rohan Olugala. A relative of a police constable in the division acted as the informant for the operation, which resulted in the seizure of 329 kg of ICE and six vehicles used for transport.
