Sri Lanka, Sept. 15 -- Former State Minister Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as Pillayan, was remanded following an order issued by the Batticaloa Magistrate's Court.

The former State Minister faced accusations concerning the commission of five homicides within the Batticaloa District.
