Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- People in several areas, including Hanwella, Wataraka, Meegoda, and Galagedara, lit firecrackers to express their joy over bringing Lalith Kannangara, also known as 'Bus Lalith', an organised criminal arrested in Dubai, to the island.

In addition, banners were displayed in those areas expressing gratitude to the government.

Residents of those areas allege that 'Bus Lalith' collected extortions from everyone, including beggars.
