Sri Lanka, April 10 -- Police closed the entrance road to Parliament following a protest involving Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Members of Parliament and others.

A demonstration demanding the resignation of Energy Minister Kumara Jayakodi is currently underway at the Polduwa intersection near the Parliament entrance. Members of the public joined the protest to support the demand for the minister's removal.

The protesters are urging the President and the government to oust the minister over allegations of a multibillion-rupee loss resulting from a sub-standard coal scam. Furthermore, a no-confidence motion filed by the opposition against Energy Minister Kumara Jayakodi is set for debate in Parliament today (10).
