Sri Lanka, Aug. 5 -- The debate brought by the Opposition regarding the report of the Committee on Public Finance, concerning the incident where USD 2.5 million from the General Treasury ended up in the hands of a third party, is taking place today (05).

The report regarding this incident was presented to Parliament on the 10th of last month by the committee's chairman, MP Dr Harsha de Silva.

Furthermore, the Colombo Fort Magistrate recently ordered the CID to inform the court today of the progress on investigations into the incident.
