Parents urged to protect children's privacy on social media
Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- The Ministry of Women and Child Affairs has urged parents and guardians to exercise caution when sharing photographs and videos of children on social media platforms.
The ministry stated that the trend of uploading children's photographs and videos to the internet has increased due to the growing use of monetization methods on platforms such as Facebook. It has also received information indicating that various individuals and organizations are using these images and videos for commercial purposes under the pretext of showcasing children's talents and entertaining activities.
