Sri Lanka, April 13 -- Parents must take special care to protect children from firework-related injuries during the festive season, medical professionals advise. Doctors note that young children often face accidents due to a lack of awareness while using fireworks.

The public shows great enthusiasm for both traditional rituals and the use of fireworks during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year. While children, youth, and middle-aged individuals all participate in lighting fireworks, children remain the most vulnerable to unexpected mishaps.
