Sri Lanka, June 30 -- Public health inspectors examined 85,712 locations for mosquito breeding sites during the first 25 days of this month. These inspections led to the discovery of larvae at 7,188 of those locations.

The Public Health Inspectors' Union stated that legal action is being taken against more than 6,000 individuals for maintaining environments where dengue mosquitoes breed.

Authorities identified 986 dengue patients the day before yesterday, bringing the total number of cases reported across the island so far this year to 53,159. The death toll currently stands at 31.
