Sri Lanka, Nov. 1 -- The Police Narcotics Bureau has reported that 310,200 individuals have been arrested in connection with drug offences over the period from October 31 of last year (2025) up to the present.

The bureau revealed that among those arrested are 50 school students actively engaged in drug trafficking.

Furthermore, operations conducted over the past year led to the arrest of 1,043 main drug distributors and 4,238 youths aged between 18 and 21 in connection with 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine) trafficking.

In addition, the Police Narcotics Bureau noted that 85 tri-forces personnel and 24 police officers directly involved in drug trafficking were also among those apprehended.
