Sri Lanka, Oct. 21 -- The opposition decided to request a special parliamentary select committee to reveal the truth behind the tragic death of the tusker Kawanthissa, a national natural heritage of the country, to ensure that all parties involved in the incident properly fulfilled their responsibilities, and to achieve justice for the tusker.

Under the leadership of Sajith Premadasa and with the participation of opposition parliamentarians, the signing of a motion to be handed over to the Speaker requesting the appointment of this special parliamentary select committee took place today (21).
