Sri Lanka, Oct. 10 -- Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated that former President Ranasinghe Premadasa gave a special place to the Sambuddha Sasana by initiating and implementing the Ministry of Buddha Sasana and the Buddha Sasana Fund, and worked to protect it by giving Buddhism, as well as other religions, races, and cultures, their rightful place as stated in the Constitution.

The opposition leader made these remarks after visiting the Pannipitiya Rukmalgama Dharma Wijayaloka Temple, where he met Most Venerable Ittepane Dhammalankara Thera of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha to receive blessings and engage in a cordial discussion.
