Sri Lanka, July 20 -- Only 13 percent of containers were selected for intrusive examination by Sri Lanka Customs in the first quarter of 2026, though 22 percent of all containers processed through the ports were referred to Other Government Agencies for mandatory inspections.

A progress report on anti-corruption measures released by Sri Lanka Customs, the Excise Department, and the Inland Revenue Department stated that a significant portion of these referrals occurs due to regulatory requirements enforced by Other Government Agencies.
