NPP local government member arrested over Nelliady house attack released on police bail
Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- A local government member representing the National People's Power (NPP) and a group of individuals have been arrested and released on police bail on charges of attacking a house in the Nelliady area and damaging its CCTV camera system.
According to the correspondent, the group behaved violently by pelting stones at the residence belonging to a retired public officer and destroyed the security cameras installed at the house.
Acting swiftly on a telephone call made by the residents to the Nelliady Police Station regarding the incident, a police team arrived at the location, surrounded the area, and arrested the suspects.
However, after questioning the suspects at the police station, steps were taken to release them...
