Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- Water levels in several main rivers across the island remain high, but no river currently shows a risk of developing into a flood situation, the Department of Irrigation stated.

Its Director Engineer L.S. Sooriyabandara noted that several main river basins received significant rainfall over the past 24 hours.
