Sri Lanka, June 10 -- A new circular revising the salary structure and promotion process for officers of the Sri Lanka Principals' Service is issued by the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education.

The new Circular No. 03/2014 (I) replaces Section 01 and related sub-sections of the previous Circular No. 03/2014, following Cabinet approval granted at its meeting on 11 May.

Approval is granted to calculate principals' salaries treating it as a promotion, as an initial step towards resolving long-standing salary issues raised by principals.

The amendment aims to regularise the initial salary steps applicable to officers in the Sri Lanka Principals' Service, in line with provisions of the Establishments Code.
