Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- The National Building Research Institute has issued new landslide early warnings for several Divisional Secretariat divisions across eight districts, effective from 10:00 AM today (20) until 10:00 AM tomorrow (21).

A Level 2 Amber alert has been issued for the Pasbage Korale division in Kandy; Dehiowita and Yatiyanthota in Kegalle; Pitabeddara in Matara; Kotmale, Ambagamuwa, and Norwood in Nuwara Eliya; as well as the Ratnapura and Eheliyagoda divisions in the Ratnapura district. Residents in these areas are advised to remain on high alert for potential landslides, slope failures, rockfalls, and ground subsidence, and be prepared to evacuate to safe locations if needed.
